Can I Get Into Yale?

I am a rising senior and Yale has been my dream school since the beg of junior year. I've already posted in the Yale forum, but would like more feedback. What are my chances of getting into Yale (or any other top school)?

[li] Applying EA at Yale
[/li]

[li] ACT:31
[/li]

[li] SAT II: retaking, Literature(700)
[/li]

[li] Senior Year Course Load:hardest possible that the school could give, with dual credit, many ap classes, bioscience classes at the hospital center, and aerospace classes at JSC
[/li]

[li] Additional Rec: one from my mentor at the NASA program
[/li]

[li] Interview: thinking this will go well because I'm easy to talk too
[/li]

[ *] State (if domestic applicant):Small town, texas
[ *] School Type: private (about 100 students)
[ *] Ethnicity:African american
[ *] Gender:female
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.):URM?

So, uh, chance away!

Definitely URM. Even so, a 31 ACT isn't that great for Yale. You need to raise that if possible. A couple of more points would make you a very attractive candidate at the Ivy level.

thanks!
but what if i finished with act tests, is it highly impossible to get in with a 31?

There are people who don`t get with 34 and you want to do it with 31 ?This is absurd..

Collegeboard says that average ACT in Yale is 31-34

how is it absurd?...people who have perfect scores get rejected too.

Standardized tests aren't the only factor Ivan....

Joyogunx, as many people posted on your yale forum post you have a pretty good chance. Because it's an ivy i dont think anyone can say anything else about it without being unreasonable.

Stop worrying and wait and see..

Ummm if you're African American and even slightly competent you will get into Ivys. 31 looks really good within the black racial profile.

hmmm...i think your in...maybe not right away through EA, but lets say u were waitlisted, youll probabaly end up getting in in the end.

ACT is fine. If you get rejected, which I think is about 50/50, it wont be because of that, it will be because essays or recs were generic or phoney. What are AP scores? I'm assuming 4-5?

I think deferred then accepted may be the most likely scenario.

Make sure you get those essays (common app and supplemental) read by a wide variety of people. Seek criticism and finds ways to better inform the admissions committee about your academic and extracurricular passions, life experiences, and, ultimately, how you will fit into the Yale community.

Everything else looks solid.
