Okay so I have been living in Austria for 7 years now, before that I lived in the US for 12 years and now I want to get my GED but I am not sure if it is even possible because I don't have a green card and I am Austrian. I really want to keep my options open since I´m still not sure where I want to stay!
So my question is: Is it possible for me to get my GED while still in Austria (Have a job and such here)?
Thanks to anyone who can help me!

NO you can not take the GED @ Austria, except Austria does administer their own GED. GED is not a substitute for the college entrance test (SAT, ACT or TOEFL) instead its a substitute for a High School Diploma.
You have to be present in the USA to take the US administered GED. And yes you can take the GED even if you are not yet a US Citizen. You just have to pay the fees since you will not qualify for any waivers.
Best of Luck.

Any college or university in the US that will admit you if you hold a GED rather than a full secondary school diploma, will also admit you with the foreign equivalent of the GED. If you have a full secondary school diploma from anywhere in the world (which of course includes Austria) you do not need a GED.
