My dream has always been to go to either USC or UCLA, and I was wondering if there was any chance of getting my GPA up from a 3.3 (which is an 88%, I believe) to a 4.0 when I apply for college.

Thank you!

bump bump

No. In order to have a UW 4.0, you have to achieve all A’s. Getting all A’s your junior and senior years of high school will raise your unweighted GPA but not to a 4.0.

Would you mind telling me how high my GPA can get if I get A’s through Junior and Senior year?

Can you list all the classes you took freshman and sophomore year along with the grades you received in each class. And what grade you got each semester/trimester.

How many classes per semester/trimester will you have your junior and senior year?

3.65 if you get straight A’s junior and senior year.

Also, in general, colleges like it if they see you getting better grades in harder classes as you progress through HS…so if you can get all A’s, then they will see that improvement and that you are ready for college work.

Since your 2nd semester Sr year grades won’t be evaluated, in fact you only have 3 more semesters to improve your cumulative GPA. Thus, if you get all As as a Junior and your 1st semester Sr year, your cumulative GPA at time of application will be a maximum of 3.6.

Hone up on those math skills too – this is basic algebra
