Can I get re-admitted to UCI?

I was accepted as a transfer from cc for this Fall with 13k gift aid, but most of those aids were cancelled last week. Mainly because my brother's admission to the college got rescinded, which will make him not going any college this year.

As of today, I only paid 1/3 of my tuition through PACE program, but it's likely that I can't pay the rest and will withdraw this quarter. I read from the website(UCI University Registrar - Readmission) that I won't have to re-apply for admission to UCI and be eligible for readmission, if I submit a Withdrawal form after the quarter begins.

I think I will work full-time for now and try to come back by the Spring quarter or possibly next Fall. The trouble is, readmission is not guaranteed. Will I have a trouble getting in UCI next year because I never took any class in UCI and had long-time absence? What are the cases of readmission denial usually?

Why can’t you consider getting a student loan? Esp. since you’ve already paid 1/3 of the tuition. Go in and talk to financial aid or send them a letter for reconsideration.

The maximum amount I can get from the student loan is $7,500, just barely enough to cover two quarters. I will need to work part-time to pay my housing and other personal expense. But I would rather save money now and choose to go school later, since I don’t think I can study while earning at least $700 a month. Plus, my mom(she’s a single mother) won’t get a loan for me, since she already has enough loans for herself.
Btw, is it just me or does financial office really never pick up a phone call? It’s cerntainly frustrating, especially when it takes 7 hours of driving to get there.

There are also private student loans out there. You can find a lot of info online.

Calling is frustrating, but when I sent a letter in with my financial status, I got reconsidered for special cirmcumstances and my aid increased by quite a bit. Best of luck.
