I haven't taken college-level biology yet. I plan to do so next year (junior year).
WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING INTO AN SMDEP/PREMED OR BIOMEDICAL/BIOCHEMISTRY REU PROGRAM??

Do you have any specialized lab skills, particularly in bio or biochem?

Have you taken gen chem? OChem? Biochem? How are your math skills?

What’s your GPA? Who will be writing your LORs?

I’d say it all depends of how you can answer the above and whether you can effectively explain why you have no biology coursework and want to go into a biology oriented program.

I think this questkon would have to be answered based on the requirements if each program.

Why not if you get in? You really do not need our permission. You do not need any skills either. You will learn on a job.

ochem - 4.0
gen chem - 4.0
multivariable calculus - 2.7
physics - 3.3

i haven’t taken bio yet because i wanted to take the one offered at a sister school instead of the one at home because it has a more molecular approach. however i’ve had to hold it off to complete chem major requirements.
i kind of bounced around freshman year, only took one semester of lab, tried humanities and social science classes.
