Hello im new to this site.
My dream is to go to Boston University
Im number 2 in my class with a 4.0 unweighted g.p.a.
I got a 1080 on my SAT.
560 on Math
520 on Critical Reading

Do i have a chance?

I'm very involved in school.
Im class president, and the lead in school musicals. I also am in various leadership programs and I do alot of community service.

I really want to go to a good school with communication and media studies, what are the best ones out there?

your gpa is really good for boston u so that will definitely help you. you also have good ecs and everything, so i think that the weakest part of your app would be your sat scores. are you planning to retake? if you could get a 1200ish that would improve your chances.

But say if i dont go up from a 1080, do i still have a decent chance. I mean are SAT's really everything. Im ver ysmart in school, I just dont test way on standardized tests.

Sorry to break it to you, but the mean ACT at BU is around a 28, which is abut low/mid 1200s on the SAT.

2 in your class, how small is it? I'm barely making top 10% in a class of 300, with a 1910 on my SAT's and a 3.9. My score is pretty low for my school, and we only send around 3/4 people to Ivy's every year.

If you raise it, you make make it a match, otherwise, good luck.

According to the College Board, Boston's 25th percentile SAT score is 1180. This means that you're over 100 points below what 75% of the students there had. Obviously this is not good.

Your GPA is great but even your goal of a 1080 isn't the score one has in mind for a salutatorian. You also need SAT subject tests for Boston so you will need to take those too. I doubt a score like that will get you into Boston so perhaps the ACT is worth trying.

Are you planning on taking the ACT. Often times a student like you (good in the classroom) performs better on the ACT especially if you know what youre doing in science.
