I have got 61% in my ssat,
I'm a international student,
other application are pretty good,
do I have chance to go to those school,
APPLY FOR 8

I’m not going to lie, probably not Exeter, Andover, or Deerfield. I don’t know about Peddie. BUT the SSAT score is not the ONLY thing they take into account. If you look on boardingschoolreview.com, it states the average SSAT scores for each school (but remember, that means 1/2 of the kids get LOWER than the average, so someone may have gotten the same score as you and got in).

Most people I know only apply to Exeter or Andover if they have 99 percentiles, but of course not EVERYONE can get that, so there are bound to be people who got lower.

Maybe not, but it’s still worth a shot if you have a MAJOR hook or something along those lines.

@helang425 - Andover’s average is 93%, Exeter’s is 90%, meaning not everyone who applied got 99%, in fact I don’t know any one who did.

@Katester22: yeah I know, that’s why I said “but of course not EVERYONE can get that, so there are bound to be people who got lower.” It’s just my friend who goes there and other people have told me that I shouldn’t try if I don’t get 99 percentile, but I see now that I am wrong, especially since not everyone can get that, so thank you for correcting me! sorry for the wrong info sophia2011

Sorry I wasn’t trying to sound harsh, but I do know some people who retake the SSAT hoping to get a 99% or something. I can see how people think that score might guarantee them a spot.

oh no no no, you didn’t sound harsh at all! I was worried you would think that I thought that; I was genuinely thanking you because what I said about the 99% probably terrified or crushed Sophia2011’s dreams for making it into Andover or Exeter.

honestly, unless you have a major hook or are a recruited athlete then no for all of them but Peddie. I don’t know what Peddie’s average is but the others are all around 90% so you most likely won’t get in unless every other part of your app is amazing

i think peddie’s is 70%
its on boardingschoolreview.com
im not sure if the info is accurate but you could check it out

the info on there is usually pretty close to the actual numbers… if peddie’s 70% I’d say you have a shot if the rest of your apps good

The tour guide that I had at Exeter told me that the AO’s like to see AT LEAST an 85.

An interviewer I have talked to said there’s no “cut-off” score. I know people who have gotten in with lower SSAT scores, but you really need something that makes you stand out from the rest of the crowd. Best of luck with your applications!

The Director of Admissions at Andover last Andover day said the last thing they look at is the SSAT scores so they are heavily weighing other factors which they give prime consideration to. Good Luck.

Thank you everybody, I’ll try my best
