Can I go up

ok...as I already posted, I got a 29 on the Feb. test. This was the first time I took it and I was really disappointed with my score. What are my chances of going up to at least a 31? Anyone else have luck increasing their score 2 or more points and if so, how did you do it?

Thanks

My friend just increased his score by 2 points. He did nothing to prepare. On the other hand, I just decreased by score by 2 points, and I actually did some preparation. ACT scores sometimes make no sense. =]

yeah, i increased my score 3 points. the first time i took it i was unaware of the time constraints with the science and reading sections. after i practiced a few times i realized that for science, there is NO way to finish if you read the intro material, so i just jumped straight to the questions and skimmed it if the question asked for something in the intro. also, i skipped the dueling scientists question and came back to it at the end. that way i had much more time to actually read that one. basically, just answer the questions you can get from the graphs and only read if you have to. i did this and my science score raised from 29 to 36!! also, for reading, skim the passage and DON'T read unless you are a super speed reader. know the basic organization of the passage going into the questions, that way you can quickly reference the passage when you need to.

well, i (contrary to birk44) am a fast reader, and if you are too, then you can quickly get through the introductions, and still have time at the end of the exam to look things over. i know it can sometimes be a waste of time, but grounding myself in the background of the question is VERY helpful to me, especially if it is a topic in say earth science which i havent studied since junior high school
