If I could handle AP chem, bio, and world history along with 3 honors classes junior year, can I handle AP Micro, APES, Lit, Physics C Mechanics, Psych, and Calc AB all in one year? By handle, I mean get A's. My EC's aren't too demanding (only two clubs that meet a few times a week). I also don't mind staying up (or not sleeping :D). Any thoughts? Thank you all. I'm not one of those neurotic kids, but I just want to know if I'm about to make a big mistake. I heard AP Micro, APES, and Psych ae easy anyway...

depends on the school. in my school i think 2/80 people have A’s in lit, C mechanics is good only for those who are very strong in math. calc AB should be fine though.

See that what worries me, AP Lit. My life would be so much easier if my school offered honors English 12. I’m good at math and problem solving, and I really liked AP chem, which most people found hard. I guess English is my only problem. Thanks for the reply though.

There is little point in taking so many AP classes if you are not doing ECs… The only reason I could see is that you want to skip GE at an AP friendly school. Why not take 4-5, a study hall, and do something cool?

I think being in National Honor Society (tutor + ALL kinds of school service) + Environmental Club is cool. Plus, I find all of the classes I’m about to take interesting and fun, with the exception of English, which I loathe :D. I just want to have the hardest schedule possible to compensate for my first two ESL years (easy schedules) and show college how much I’ve improved. I applying to Umich. It’s not that selective I know, but still it’s not easy to get into it.

Ask the people at your school that are in those classes or have similar schedules as you. See how hard the classes are and how they balance them.

Asking others at your school/your school counselor would be a good idea. My daughter expected senior year to be easy and loaded her schedule. She had no idea how time consuming the college application process would be. There is the common app, plus all the schools have supplement questions. Some schools also have additional work for certain scholarships and honors programs. Then after the due dates you may get invitations to visit schools which takes time away from classes, more scholarship apps, it never seems to end. She is really exhausted. Yes, she is managing, but it is stressful. And at some point almost everyone gets “senioritis”! If you really don’t like English, you might consider at least dropping that one.

@Fb0mbb,
Good idea but if I just wasn’t so shy goddammit lol :D

no it’s too much

I have also heard that Psych and ES are really easy (I don’t know about as a class but in terms of the AP Exam).

Take useful APs
