okay. i don't like math. i was going to take subject tests in lit and history (since, you know, im actually good in these areas) but the admissions officer at my first choice school told me to take math since i did signifigantly worse on that section than V+W. i've taken precal, but my teacher was AWFUL.

i know i should probaby take math II, but do yall think i can handle it if i prepare with a kaplan book until october?

use barrons and if you have a good mind for logic and math and such, sure. 1 week was enough for me, but math is one of my stronger points.

I think PR is best for the math subject tests, though many praise Barrons because it overprepares you and makes the real test easy. Personally, I hated barrons but that might be because I only had like 2 weeks to go through the whole thing. I'm sure I would've liked it if I'd had more time. So I would say PR and Barrons if you have 1 to 2 months.

If you've got enough time, take two tests (like Lit and Math IIC) and then take two tests (History and Math IC), and then send in your Lit and History scores + your better Math score. you may be surprised...it's pretty hard to do well on IC b/c the curve is awful if it even exists.

If you did precal I recommend the IIC, because of the greater curve. The IC is obviously easy, but if you miss one points will automatically start to be deducted. I've heard that some people have actually omitted 4 or 5 and still gotten an 800! This is mere speculation, though.

I didn't answer 10 questions on the IIC (I counted at the end) and I'm sure I missed more than a couple of the ones I actually did answer...I ended up with a 740, so the curve is huge.
