Can I handle UCLA's curriculum?

Hey everyone, I just got accepted to UCLA, UCSD, and UCD as a pre-cognitive science major from a california community college. (Still waiting for Berkeley). I’d like to attend UCLA but I have A LOT of fear/anxiety/worry that I might not do well and possibly end up dropping out.

Do you think I can handle UCLA’s curriculum/academic work? How do I know which school would be a good fit (academically) for me? Regardless of environment, finances, etc.

(For background, I got accepted with a 3.64 transfer GPA. In high school, I was a 3.7-3.8 overall GPA student with a 1400-1500 SAT. I only took one AP class and received a “2” on the AP exam. I have an average IQ (about 90’ish) if that matters… lol)

They wouldn’t have accepted you if they didn’t think you could do it. Having said that, if YOU don’t think you can do it, choose another school.

You’ve proven that you can handle college classes and do well! UCLA recognizes that and that’s why they admitted you. UCLA will be a lot bigger than your community college so there will be more extracurricular activities available, but you already know the formula for success in college…don’t forget that formula when you arrive on campus.

It’s not like classes at UCLA are 10x harder than the other UC’s…they are all excellent schools that will challenge you.

Good luck!

Thank you guys! I’ve been having a lot of anxiety about this and hope I could get some perspective #:-S

Hey! UCLA admitted you because you have outstanding achievements and they know that you will be able to handle the rigors of UCLA academics. That being said, the transition might be rough, but it can be said the same for any other colleges. Believe in yourself!! (ง’̀-'́)ง
