Can I hide my ACT score

I'm planning to take the ACT April 8 and I was wondering if I could not report the score to my colleges if the score isn't high enough. Would colleges know if I took the ACT if I don't send them the score? I'm afraid of a scores that is lower than my SAT one b/c of the harsh/nonexistant curve on the ACTs.
(I got 800V800M690W on SAT)

My daughter's high school reported ALL scores (SAT and ACTs) to all the colleges-- which annoys me because she took the ACT twice, and wanted only the higher score reported! We just found out that both of her ACT scores were reported at the Amherst admissions web site-- which showed the values of all of her scores. But Amherst did not accept the 34 ACT as the highest score. It stated--- "ACT waved" Her ACTscore was far better than her SAT......
So much for the ACT....
