Can I improve GPA senior year?

I really want to get into a good school but i kind of messed up this year due to many personal reasons, a main one being moving from overseas and struggle to settle in. my GPA Is 3.2(technically 3.15) and my sat is 1710 but im taking classes and am trying to bring it up to a 1900. Can i next year, bring it up to at least a 3.4? And do i have a shot at some good collegees?

Regular decision deadlines are usually January 1st. Unless your first semester ends before then and you can get the info and updated transcript from your school before then, you won’t be able to submit a different GPA.
You can no longer take the SAT that is out of 2400, the new SAT is out of 1600. Make sure to study for that one instead of the old one.
As far as your chances for good colleges, it depends on what you define as a good college. Ivies for you would be a huge reach- your GPA makes your chances very low. You’d have to do some research and find schools who would accept your GPA and test scores. What schools are you thinking you might want to apply to? This info would help us chance you better. Also, give us some info on your ECs.

Oops forgot to write the new format! I am aware of the new SAT, and think it’s better as the math has 50% weight, which will help since I’m very strong with math. I’m still not sure about my major yet, but I’m considering business and communications.
NYU, Tufts,Boston, Uni , Wisconsin,UCI, UCD, and Syracuse. also looked at Ohio state and indiana school of business and rutgers but the list above has schools i’ve really wanted to go to.
These are just some schools I’ve been considering, and the Semester actually does end January, but there are quarter grades. I’m not looking at Ivies, but i want to at least get into “b schools” as they call them
ECs:
NYT School club
Programming club
Tech crew(help out with theater)
Track, but joined in the past month and move around different events
DECA business club, couldn’t explain it but found this summary: prepares emerging leaders and
entrepreneurs for careers in marketing,
finance, hospitality and management
in high schools and colleges around
the globe.
Interned in a leading Middle Eastern TV network for 2 weeks in year 10.
Loads of community service last year
Fluent in arabic if that helps

And last year I took the IB for one year but had to move, and i didn’t to amazing but passed if that helped. I didn’t get a diplioma however, so I’m not sure about that counsellor says it isn’t needed. Any comments on this? thanks alot.

If you can bring your SAT up, you can at least give yourself a chance at those schools. However, if you wanted to get into the likes of Tufts and NYU, you’d need to be near perfect to make up for your gpa. Most of the schools you mentioned are still above average, so you should really try to hit at least a 700 in both sections if you retake the SAT. Also, the gpa is really on you. I’m not sure how your classes are weighted, but to bring it up .2 points in one year would be very difficult. Again, aim for perfection if you really want to see that kind of improvement.

I do hope that I improve, but will only one quarter grade from next year raise my gpa and would admissions see it? Because Even if i do very well the whole year, colleges would only consider the first semester, and I think that only the first quarter grade would be sent.

I recommend that you also work on your English language skills. Improvement will help you succeed in college.

Thank you, I’m working on that lostaccount.

How will the fact that I’ve moved here this year affect my chances; would it help?

The UC’s look at your 10th and 11th grade coursework. Applications are due Nov. 30th. Your GPA won’t be posted by then and will remain the same.
Also, if you are not instate for California, you will have to pay full OOS fees if you were to get in.
