I want to go down there this sunday...as an admitted student, am I allowed to explore the dorms and campus freely or should I call to make an appointment?

You can certainly walk around the campus freely on a Sunday. But you may find that most of the buildings will be locked. The library will be open (you will need to show some ID but a drivers license will do) as will the Hut in Gilman Hall. The Rec Center will be open but you usually need a Hopkins ID to get in (but if you are nice to the person at the desk they may allow you to walk around). Other buildings will mostly be locked but those with labs, studios, etc are accessible to students with keys so if you see someone entering, introduce yourself and you probably can get access. You won’t be able to get into a dorm without a Hopkins ID unless you get invited in by a resident. But, again, if you hang out near the dorms and introduce yourself as an accepted student–you can probable snag an invite.

Also, expect the campus to be pretty quiet on a Sunday–especially as you are approaching final exams. The library will probably be busy.

And don’t be surprised if you show up at 8am on a Sunday morning and see almost no one at all around-- everyone’s probably asleep. But if it’s nice outside you’ll see people outside on the freshman quad or the beach in the afternoon

Spring Fair will still be going on this Sunday if that’s when you were thinking of coming down. So it’s going to be extremely crowded and crazy. While that’s awesome…Hopkins is not always like that unfortunately.

Physics Fair will also be this Saturday if you decide to come early.

You can register and go on any day next week for an Open House I think, I registered to go to the Open House next Monday.

Walk around campus, visit the bookstore, go into the library and Gilman Hall amongst other buildings you are looking at studying in. GL!

yayayay! i went…spring fair was going on and i loved the campus.
i sort of wished that the campus wasnt so crowded that day so I could have been able to take a pic of gilman and stuff but i still had a great time.
