I went to a community college the summer before I began at my current school - I only took one class, college algebra, and failed it due to being unable to take the final exam (retarded family crisis).

My current school doesn't have any record that I know of and I know the FAQ says I have to include it, but how will they know anything about it if I never put it on the application?

While it's possible to successfully elude the system, adcoms will look very unkindly upon you if they discover deception. I hate to be cliche, but honesty is the best policy when in doubt on apps. I'm sure one F isn't going to ruin everything, especially if you explain it.

wayward is right if the adcoms find out you tried to deceive them in a matter such as grades then they will throw your app out the instant they discover the deception.

You have to include every college you ever attended, even for one class, even if a summer class, even if it was while you were in high school (unless for dual credit when it was already reported on your hs transcript).

Just include an explanation in the "Additional Info" section that you were unable to take the final due to family crisis; that it was to late to withdraw or take an Incomplete (or you didn't realize that was an option). So long as this is clearly unusual for you (ie, the rest of your college and hs record don't have these kinds of problems), it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Much better to do it correctly than have to worry that you will be found out and your admission reneged.
