Can I make an appeal to CSU Fullerton?

I am a high school senior right now, and I’m interested in nursing. I’ve been looking for direct entry freshmen BSN programs so I don’t have to go through the struggle of applying to the School of Nursing separately in my freshmen or sophomore year.

Cal State Fullerton revised their program to be a direct-entry program, and it was my #1 school until I found out that I’m not eligible for the program because my chemistry class is “in progress” at the time of applying.

The reason why I had to take chemistry my senior year is because I skipped my junior year of high school, so I am a three year graduate. Chemistry isn’t offered to freshmen at my school and biology is required sophomore year, so I could only take chemistry my senior year.

My counselor suggested I make an appeal, so I wanted to get some more information on how to make an appeal, to whom I make, and if it will work.

my stats:

Weighted GPA: 3.43
SAT I: 1540 (CR:550, MT: 480) - I forgot my calculator  stupid me

I’ll be taking the SAT again in Dec. 2015 along w/ the ACT as well.

The program specifically states:
Complete high school level Chemistry and Biology each with a grade of “B” or higher (if AP then “C” or higher) by end of junior year in high school (11 grade).
If that is their requirements, then why would they grant you an exception.

Also based on your posted stats, your eligibility index is 3774.
CSUF’s Nursing program requires a 4200 EI minimum which you do not meet so you will not be accepted into the program regardless of your appeal.

You need to look at attending a 2 year CCC program and then transferring or look at other Cal States which have lower nursing requirements. Remember, all nursing programs at the Cal States are impacted so unless you can bump up your GPA and test scores, all will be a difficult admit.
