Can I make it into any UC's? like any at all?

Quick background information to all of you forum members out there.

I live in Oakland, CA. Yes, Oakland. One of the most violent cities in California. Nor-Cal, Bay Area and my GPA is around 3.5 and I have not taken any AP classes within my first 3 years of high school. Now as a senior, I'm taking 2 AP classes. AP Gov/Econ and AP Environmental Science. My SAT score was EXTREMELY low, a 1025. I'm currently registered for the next SAT which is Oct 9 and I hope with a little studying from now until then I can boost that number up in the 1300-1400 range and maybe even farther. As for my EC, I've been active in the marching band for 4 years. I've been the main director/videographer for my schools plays, events, assemblies and anything involving the student body. I've filmed it. I've also been an active volunteer for my neighborhood's street fair every year for the past 3 years.

Here's my question.

Can I get into any UC's at all? Any of the California UC's? I know that me not taking any AP classes have greatly hurt my chances along with the low SAT score but hey, chance me on any school.

As for personal statement, I've written about me going through the trials and tribulations of a serious relationship I was in. How I became a very negative person after a horrific break-up with my ex and how I slowly made my way back in the social scene as a positive person.

Thanks!

If your SAT score of 1025 includes the Writing section of the SAT as well as Math and CR, you have no chance of getting into a UC. In fact, since your M+CR score could be at most 825 (assuming you received the minimum possible score of 200 in The W section), It is unlikely that you would be accepted at any of the CSUs either.

You need to calculate your UC GPA. This will cover only the so-called a-g course requirements in grades 10 and 11. Your overall GPA is not what will be considered. If, somehow, you are in the top 4% of your high school senior class, then you would be automatically eligible for several UC campuses under the ELC (Eligible in the Local Context) program.

You will also need to take two SAT II subject tests to be eligible for UC. Check the UC website for the dates by which you’ll need to take these tests.

Make sure you also find out about applying for admission to Cal State campuses and your local community college, in the event that you aren’t eligible for UC admission.
