Can I make it into Berkeley?

Hi everybody,

I am an international high school graduate from Germany thinking about studying in the USA. I will do one year of social service and then begin my studies. I would love to study in Berkeley. I know, however, that admissions are highly competitive, so I would like to know whether it is possible for internationals like me to be admitted.
I don't really want to write down my stats. Just know that I have perfect scores in my German Abitur and I am also completing the International Baccalaureate at the same time. Things that make me stand out (in a way) are:

1st place in a national math competition

attended math summer program at Stanford University

had a research project at a renowned math research institution

research at renowned Physics research center

internship at Fraunhofer institute (they developped MP3)

Well, there are a couple of things. I think I am very well-rounded (play piano for 13 years, have done various sports). I know that it's impossible to predict anything, but do I actually stand a chance?

yes, a chance.

apply = )

yeah, come to Cal.

For the price you will pay aim to get into a top private instead. You will pay the same and get a better value.

Like Cantscilence said, I'd say you should apply to some other private schools (as well as Berkeley), but I'd also say you should disregard what CST say on these boards about quality of education. Quality of education is dependent on the individual student, and you should make your decision based on how you feel you'd do at each school you get into. If the above poster didn't get the education that he feels he was owed, then that's his problem. Ask other on this board, or at the school itself, what they think or the "value" of Berkeley.

abless,

Ich glaube, da

Hallo Calx,

thanks very much (and all the others, too).
I will apply and try to give my best :)

CalX: Ma m

man i wish i knew french, im going to be in france in like 5 weeks
