what are my chances of being accepted?

why is your SAT score SO low? ...have you taken the SAT more then once... do u plan on taking it again?

...its a hard call... i mean out of all my friends at AU... I have the lowest SAT score of a 1240 (600v 640m)

if you look at AUs website... i mean the incoming class (my class) of 09... the avg SAt was a 1270... and the average gpa was a 3.55... and your really not "there"

i'd say that AU is a high match for you... i mean its not a reach... but... well... i wouldn't consider AU a saftey... the amt of IB courses that you took does help your case... but if you have taken so many IBs... and you have done pretty well on your SATii... why didn't u do better on your SATs?

is AU like your first choice school? why didn't u apply ED? did u interview? if so... how did that go?

...anyway yeah... i stick stick w/ my gut reaction... high match... good luck!!!

..oh yeah and feel free to PM me w/ any questions/ concerns you have about AU seeing as i currently am a frosh at AU... and i love to help out potential AUers...

~alyssa

i don't think you will here this anywhere else here, but honestly your fine/set for American.

Au, is not exactly my top choice, more like 4th. Thats why i applied rd, and didnt interview, actually i didnt even know they do interviews. To answer your question about the sat1, i honestly don't know why i score so poorly on it. that score was from my 2nd try, first time i had scores in the mere 400s. i might be able to take it a 3rd time on jan28th. the subject tests however were alot easier to me, questions were more straight forward. Yea i c your point, the ib classes isnt reflected on my sat, but i try to challenge myself.

maden10 i seriously advise that you try taking the act--some people just do better on this test--(i'm one-mainly beacuse studying for the sat is crucial and its not really for the act-i din't stduy for itand still got a decent score)----so instead of wasting another try on the sat (which i'm sure you could do tons better of you did some hardcore studying-anyone can) take the ACT-----OK-The ACT is not for those with borderline ADD-the sections are alot longer and not broken into ten little bites for the testtakers like the SAT is(however the run time for the ACT is shorter than the SAT's)--4 sections: English-easier than sat's writing mutliple choices beacuse the format is easier and flows better--each question does not come from a seperate passage-each quesiton comes from a series of five or so passages--it feels more like proofreading a paper except its standardized, which as you can imagine sound pretty easy-less like a grammar workbook than the SATs---Reading--harder than SAT--four passages not broken up, complete passages, much longer while reading must retain more(remeber the SATs at the longest are like five paragarphs long -how easy it that ?)--plus i feel more strained for time while taking the ACTs reading , No useless vocab questions on useless words like lupine or something----math--easier for me less complex hard algebra more easier geometry elementary alegra and simple trig-----science--common sense--just interpreting graphs and answering questions about provided data---only catch is that sometimes the presentation is tricky-also alot of unecessary wording that can get confusing/frustrating at this point in the test(this is where my AD kicks in full time)----good luck

thnx for the tip

Do interviews really count that much, anyway? I mean, mine was with a guy who'd graduated in 2003, and we spent half the time talking about where to get a fake ID in DC. Um.

ahahaha, from that expereince, they're pointless.. shoot

i didn't interview at AU.... haha i interviewed everywhere but AU lol... but i mean if your boarderline... they can help... i mean it shows interest... it shows the college/ university that they aren't just a backup school and that you really care about wanting to apply/ go there...

i geuss an interview would help my case then, they really are just a back up for me, not in the sense of a safety tho:(

It was pretty hilarious. Afterwards I sent him a thank you email and he was responded with something along the lines of "Yeah, so if you ever want to meet up and discuss AU or...anything else, let me know. Here's my cell number."
I just sat there for like 10 minutes blinking at the computer screen and going "Did my interviewer just ask me out?" in my head. Gah. I thought it was hilarious, though.

ahaha, man thats crazy. if i got a decent female interviewer, i'd prolly seduce her, or fail miserably tryin, ahaha. but after recieving the rejection letter, then maybe i'd think it wasnt such a good idea. bah

Wonder what they would possibly say to AU.

The Interview writes that this Candidate is poorly qualified because he attempted to poorly seduce me with grapefruit. Please reject this candidate.
