AP Spanish is level 5 so she’d be fine doe college admissions with that class and the AP exam score.
She’d also likely either get a waiver from the college requirement or would have much less to take in college. (She may also choose to study another world language.)
@TerpDad888 just to clarify, your son took 2 years of Spanish, and only Spanish (i.e. didn’t take another language 11th and 12th), and also did he skip ahead in his school’s Spanish sequence at all?
Since the OP is not interested i pursuing languages at Brown, it’s really moot. But for others who are posting level equivalents for HS and Brown, it’s not quite accurate. You don’t just get into a particular level of language because you took its predecessor in high school. Most selective colleges have some sort of vetting for foreign language study.
Here’s what Brown says about it (from their website): " Students who intend to continue study of a language and have not submitted an SAT achievement test score or an Advanced Placement score in that language are required to take placement test during orientation week or the first week of classes. This applies to languages studied formally as well as those acquired informally, such as through extended stay abroad or through use in the family. Please refer to the Orientation schedule or the relevant department for dates, times, and locations of the placement tests for all the languages taught at Brown. "
