can i only submit FAFSA and not PROFILE?

Northeastern requires both, but my parents feel like sending the PROFILE to northeastern is a waste of money because my EFC indicates that my need will be covered by family contribution alone. However I still wanna take a chance at seeing what my aid package will be(if any). So since FAFSA is free, I plan to send that to northeastern. however will the financial aid officers in northeastern put together a package for me based on the FAFSA alone? or do i HAVE to submit both!?

Follow the instructions...

Schools that use both FAFSA and CSS use FAFSA to determine federal aid (such as Pell grant, Stafford loans etc) and CSS for their own institutional aid (that is aid that the school offers out of their own money as opposed to federal money). Not submitting CSS will almost certainly mean you will not be considered for any institutional aid. I don't know if they will look at if you are eligible for Federal aid if you do not submit all the paperwork required.

NU's website very clearly states that all students (and their custodial parents) MUST submit both FAFSA and the CSS Profile in order to apply for financial aid.

Submitting the FAFSA alone will not get you anything but a string of letters/emails from NU informing you that your financial aid application is incomplete.

Give them everything they require because you never know how it will turn out.
I just went back and forth with Northeastern financial aide over some forms they never asked for until October. Even though it was kind of a pain, it yielded some very unexpected grant money...I never thought there would be more funding, especially this late !
