So my grades pretty much suck, but what do you guys think are my chances? Especially at NYU; that's my dream school.

PLEASE let me get more than 1 reply!!! PLEASE, PLEASE. You guys don't know how bad I want answers.

Did any extenuating circumstances lead to your low fresh/soph GPAs?

My father died a few days before Freshman year, my mom re-married my sophomore year. =[

What are my chances?

Since you're looking at Howard, and you list Black Studies as your intended major, may I assume that you are a Black female?

Well, your ACT and Junior and Senior year grades are exceptional. Do you plan to write an essay about your circumstances? I think you have a good shot at NYU, to be honest, in spite of your low frosh and soph grades.

Be warned, though, that a LOT of URMs apply to NYU. So much so that they have a good deal of leeway in choice.

Have you considered applying to Ivy League or Liberal Arts Colleges?

Have you already graduated from high school?

Post this in the Chances forum, you'll get a lot more responses.
