I feel terrible that I got a 19 on ACT. With this score, I could barely get into a community college. I don’t understand, I have a 4.0 GPA taking AP and Honors classes. What can I do to raise my score and can I really bring it up 10 points? Please help
Were you nervous or not get enough sleep? Were there any factors you can think of that may of contributed to your score? Definitely take practice tests and focus on each question. Rest your anxiety and jitters and see if that helps.
If you have decent GPA (e.g >3.5), you should be able to get at least above 25 on your ACT.
Make sure you take practice exams and familiarize yourself with the format of the test.
I completely agree with @courtneykur. There are so many components that could (and do) contribute towards your success on the ACT.
I also scored lower than I hoped for. There were several reasons for this, but I believe the biggest problem I dealt with was that I expected the ACT to be much easier; I thought it would be along the lines of the standardized tests I’ve become accustomed to. Remember that the ACT is a test like all others. Although it will not count towards your high school career, it does matter–something that I’m sure you’re aware of-- but treat it accordingly.
Below is a thread I posted to get advice on how to raise my score. I’m not trying to raise it 10 points, but there are a couple of helpful tips that could be useful for you.

Good luck with your retake, and remember a 29 will not earn itself.
