The FAFSA you fill out will ask for income you or your parents earned in 2015, plus any savings that aren’t in approved retirement accounts (balance as of the day you submit FAFSA).
Like sybbie said, the college will want to know how your family pays for housing and food with no income.
After you get your green card and soc sec number, make sure you try and find a part time job and work as much as possible this summer, even if the college gives generous FA, they will expect a student contribution and you will need money for books and travel.
