Can I request for a Duke email change?

My email does not have my name in it, simply my initials with a random number attached to it... this anonymity bothers me (haha, yes I am crazy/OCD). My real/personal email basically has my full name and every single screenname I have contains my full name (not really secure, but its not like I randomly sign up for random promotions)

Email accounts should have a forwarding alias associated with the account in the format firstname.lastname@duke.edu.

Source: [OIT at Duke University: E-mail Alias FAQ](http://www.oit.duke.edu/email-accounts/dukemail/faq/alias.php)

cephas is right. Your e-mail alias may have a number or your middle initial though depending on if another student has the same name as you. To see what it is, go to [Home | Duke University](http://duke.edu) and type your name into the search bar at the top right. On the right side it should list your name, e-mail alias, and phone number.

You cannot, however, change your NetID (the thing with the initials and number). You will have to use that to log into to pretty much everything you do on the Duke network.
