My official GPA is 3.89666. Can I just put 3.9 on the Common App? A 3.9 looks so much better than a 3.89666 does and it works by every rounding rule in the book. Thoughts?
What you input into the CA should match what is listed on your transcript
DS was told no. You must truncate. The email from the school he contacted said “a 3.69 GPA is not a 3.7 GPA”. At the time DS was hoping to get an auto-incoming merit scholarship and he thought he might fall a little short, but he managed to pull of straight A’s last semester and end up with a 3.72 anyhow.
Talk to your GC. It should match what he or she write on the school forms.
