I was going to take AP language this year, but I could not because of a conflict in schedule. For that reason I am self-studying for it and going to list it on the common app additional info section and say like:

05/2011 AP Language/Composition—could not take the class because of a conflict in schedule but still taking the exam, as I did for AP U.S. History

Do I have to take out just the "AP U.S. History" part? or should I not say about this at all?

Oops, my mistake. The reason why I took the AP U.S. History exam by self-studying was not because of a conflict in schedule but because I could not change the course in the middle of the year. Can I still phrase like I did on my original post? I do not want to unintentionally lie…

Well… does “not being able to change the course in the middle of the year” fall under “a conflict in schedule”?
