I'm just about to send off my first portfolio and I have a grave feeling that it might be wrong... It would be awesome if I could have a look at some other people's portfolios to check that I'm on the right track. Could someone please pm me theirs too?

I too am working on mine and plan to send it out in the next few weeks. Could I see someone's portfolio as well?

If it helps at all, I saw a whole lot of portfolios at Cornell and I can tell you they were not uniform at all. They probably all fit some set of guidelines, but their content was extremely varied. For example, one I remember contained almost all architectural drawings and most of the others (the vast majority)had no architectural drawings (maybe one or two IF they had any at all). Some were heavy on paintings and some were all drawings. The common denominator, I would say (aside from all displaying talent for whatever the medium), was sophistication. For instance, one I remember contained a series of pencil drawings of the student's dad's office done throughout a day and from slightly different angles, so that, the effect of the light coming through the window would cause differing views of mostly the same things. (Like maybe you could see a pencil lying next to the stapler in one drawing where it had been hidden in the last drawing.)

uhm, i'll show you it, but can i say that...i'm so busy i havent really drawn anything since....okay, maybe when i was like 12?

like totally legit, my portfolio sucks butt.
