I want to send a peer recommendation that I got for one school to others, but many of them don't specifically ask for it. I was wondering if any schools would mind if I sent it even if they don't ask for it.

Admission officers will only look at admission materials they specifically requested for. If they didn’t ask you to send a peer recommendation letter, don’t send it. I’ve never even heard of such rec letters being sent–only teacher recs. X:

Unless the school requests such a recc, don’t bother to send it.

to the two above,

not always true. You should ask the college admission. I sent a peer rec even though it wasn’t required, but the admission officer said that they would appreciate the rec when I asked him.

^ to which school did you send the peer recommendation to? Because I was thinking of doing the same.

Plus, there’s no harm in sending it, right?

If they don’t strictly say NOT to, it won’t hurt. Some of my schools only requested 2 LoRs, and I sent 3- was admitted to all of them. If the admissions officer doesn’t want to read it, they won’t, but it will not hurt you (assuming the letter is good).

Dartmouth requires peer recs, but that’s all I know of.

Davidson has a required peer recommendation form. And Duke’s is optional.
