The short essays they had me fill out did not really represent all of my extracurriculars.
I am on debate team, varsity tennis, treasurer of film club, 400 service hours, work at the zoo, work at a nursing home, and part of International Baccaleureate full diploma.
Do you reccomend sending a resume? i have one and sent it to other colleges, but can i to notre dame? and how would I do this?

then how would they know all my extracurriculars!?

Did your essay focus only on one of those activities? Especially for business and narrow engineering degrees, your EC’s need to be very specific, which they are not. You should have instead focused on your best EC and pushed it on your essay, i wouldn’t recommend a resume if its even allowed. On the common application you should have listed all of your EC’s, so its not like they didn’t know about your involvement, its just that they would like you to describe the best one in detail.

Example of bad essay in terms of your EC’s: 2 Sentences per activity, then a small paragraph on your volunteer hours, then you end it off with your nursing home experience.

Example of good essay in terms of your EC (I’ll assume you were best in nursing home): Most of it about your experiences with elderly people, sneak in a couple of references to your other activites (Ex.: By helping the poor and impoverished in the poorest parts of my region through Charity Inc., I realized the importance of ensuring that all seniors are taken care of). I’d leave out your poorest activities all together. Its a short essay after all.
