My two teachers have not yet sent their recommendation letters to my guidance counselor and my guidance did not send my transcript to my schools yet even though I reminded them before the break a couple weeks ago. I tried to email my colleges about this but they are on break until the 2nd, and I was wondering if I would be able to send these materials in after the deadline
Depends on the college. Some require everything by the same deadline. Others have a later deadline for supporting documentation. Check the admissions website.
While true, particularly for RD, almost every college will allow a certain grace period for things outside your control. You, however, need to get your part in on time.
@skieurope one of my schools said they will be accepting it, but NYU hasn’t said anything about it on their website. Do you know anything about this?
Specifically for NYU? No. But in my experience, I stand by my earlier statement. Few colleges, if any, are going to list exceptions on their website. Here’s the reality - colleges really do want your application and there are no AOs sitting at a computer at 12:01 a.m. with a reject stamp. It takes them all a few days to collate all the information. If you’re really worried, call them when they reopen after the holidays. But it is what it is at this point. Good luck.
Typically a private school that gets many more apps than they can review in the first few weeks after the app deadline will not penalize you. You are probably okay as long as your piece gotbin ahead of the deadline, and the others are done in the next week or two.
@TN034154 , the NYU admissions blog says it’s ok to send after as long as the application that you submit is in on time.
