Hello. I'm currently attending community college and my intended major is mechanical engineering. When i took the placement test for math, i didn't very well and got placed in intermediate algebra. I took the STEM algebra last fall and it was really easy so i talked to my counselor and told him i got an A in Calculus AP my senior year in high school and i got a 5 on the AP exam and requested to be placed in a higher math class. Due to my grade on the AP exam, i got cleared for Calculus II but since i took Calculus I in 2010 i thought it would be smart to take it again last spring. But in the first two weeks of Calculus I last spring i realized that i didn't remember any trigonometry so i dropped it and now it's fall semester and i'm taking trigonometry. I'm doing pretty well so i'm wondering if it would be a good idea to skip Pre-Calculus and try Calculus I again. It would save me some money and time but i'm worried that i might be making the same mistake when i tried to skip trig.

Pick up a calculus book and see if you can sort of understand the first few chapters. That’s the best way to know for sure.
