Can I still apply???Please help me

Hi guys
I am an international student and I have graduated from the high school in June,2013.So what about applying for Fall 2015 admissions? What do you think?
I emailed the admissions office but I haven't received an email yet.

Yes, but you’ll have to apply in the next admissions cycle.

Why email about that? The general rule is to not email about information you can find on the website. Applications are still being accepted for Fall 2014. Applications for 2015 will be accepted next fall. Keep an eye on the admissions page, they will tell you all the deadlines you need to be aware of. Read this page which explains some timelines:
https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/apply/application-timeline

I know that but the problem is that will 2 years of interruption of education hurt my chances

If you have just sat around, yes, it will hurt. If you have been doing something, no, it shouldn’t hurt.

I graduated from high school 3 years ago and I was accepted so no, it won’t hurt your chances

As already stated it should not be a problem provided that you have used the time wisely. If they think that you have been more or less wasting the time–as someone mentioned–that would be a considerable disadvantage.

I am an international student with a significant loss of time after high school. I had been accepted to TOKYO univesity under MOSTKIBASHU scholarship, but, since I only learned later the courses will be in Japanese, that took a year from me. Last year, I had applied but because of a family mishap( brother passing away) and other unlucky events, I could not apply on time( After I found the common app active even after deadline expired, I DID APPLY; BUT thinking that I would never get in this way, I withdrew).

I have done some incredible work with a team in online courses (from HARVARD OF COURSE), but the fact of the matter is I have extremely slim chances of getting in , or even of double take; though I have perfect sat scores in one sitting.

But, I am not going away without a fight. Perhaps I will say more in further posts. Please reply.

So,when will you apply?
AnnaTheGreat
wow,how did you do that?Did you work?or submitted employer recommendation?I mean what did you do during 3 years? It sounds interesting

I’m not going to discus it here. But you should have a valid excuse if you want to apply after 2 years.

“A valid reason” might be a better way to put that (if you’ll pardon me, Anna). If you’ve been working, or serving in your country’s armed forces, or spending time in a religious community, for example, I wouldn’t think of any of those things as an “excuse.” But I think any of them could be a perfectly good reason for not going directly from secondary school to university.

There are other reasons too. I know someone who is took a year off and got accepted. I don’t think she did anything meaningful. I’ll ask her what she wrote on the application, but to me she said that she just wanted some time off and visit friends and family in her home country.

Edit: an alumni interviewer that I know told me that almost half of the applicant she interviews have taken a gap year. However, this could be because she interviews mainly in London.

Sikorsky: You’re right. Excuse my bad wording.
