Hi,

I'll try to keep my story short, and I'm sorry if it's not. I applied to Northwestern University under the early decision option wayyyy back in October. I was accepted but found out I didn't receive enough financial aid to attend (withdrawals under early decision acceptances may only be made if financial circumstances do not permit a student to attend). I mercilessly appealed for four months and they finally gave me more money. I officially sent in all of my declines for enrollment at the UCs I was accepted into. Today, I found out my father lost his job. The final financial aid package Northwestern gave me was just BARELY enough, and now that my father is unemployed, we cannot afford it (UCLA costs ~$5000 less per year than Northwestern when I compare both of their packages). I'm going to appeal AGAIN, but given all of the hassling I gave the FA office for four months, I don't think they will be particularly generous, if at all. UCLA was/is my second choice, and it'll save my family $20,000 across my undergraduate years. If I e-mailed the admissions office or called in, would it be probable that they still allow me to attend?

I appreciate any comments and possible answers, and please ask questions if you do not fully understand my case. Thanks.
