So my question is do colleges pay attention to freshmen and if i have gotten one F do i even have a fighting chance to getting accepted????

Im currently applying to colleges right now, so far im applying to SDSU. CSUCI, Cal State San Marcos, and Northridge.

My gpa isnt that great just a basic 3.0 and my not so great SAT scores are 550 in math and 470 in critical

My freshmen year of High School was horrible i got 2As 8Bs 1C 1F(the F was in english)

My Sophomore year of High School was 5A's 5B's 2C"s

My Junior Year of High School was 3 A's 4B's 4'C

Currently my Senior Year im taking Physics,English4,Calculus,Econ,Gov, and Modern Lit

i have straight A's right now and taking Modern Lit because of the F i got freshmen year

The "F" i recieved freshmen year is really killing me because if i dont get accepted into college idk what i would do.

Dont worry about the Freshmen grades. Aside from SDSU, you’ll get into the others. You did well enough to meet the eligibility requirements. In fact, if you are sure you have over 3.0, you dont need to submit test scores. You can even try applying for UCM and have at least some chance of being accepted.

I must add that you must make sure you have met the english requirements.

This is straight from their website:

"If you didn’t take all the required high school courses or earned D grades in some of them, you have several options to make up these courses and qualify for CSU admission. You can complete appropriate high school courses with a grade of C or better either in summer school or in adult school. Courses in this category must be those found on the high school or adult school UC “a-g” course lists. Some adult schools may not have a-g course lists.

You may also complete college courses with a grade of C or better in the missing subject areas. Finally, you can earn an acceptable score on examinations such as the SAT subject examinations, Advanced Placement examinations, or International Baccalaureate examinations.

If you are unable or do not choose to make up your subject deficiency, you may earn at least 60 units, including 30 semester units of general education from a California Community College or other college and transfer as an upper-division transfer student, where only your college performance is considered for admission."

Ask your counselor if your SAT scores are reasonable to waive English in Freshmen year. I suspect they are.

Thanks so much for replying and i didnt really understand the second response.
