<p>You’re taking precalc h as a sophomore? That’s outstanding!! Good job on getting that far in math, and that probably means your low grade is an aberration. Don’t fret. You still have 1.5 years of grades, and the UCs look at your overall gpa. I believe you can repeat the class and replace the grade, but even if you don’t do that, just explain it on your application. An upward trend looks good.</p>
<p>Most UCs won’t care. </p>
<p>I know of plenty of people who were accepted to the mid or lower UCs with Ds.</p>
