Can I still get into Cornell University if I did bad in freshman, but redeem myself?

As the title states, I did bad in freshman year in high school(86 GPA). I realize that I’m not doing what I should be, and I really wanna make it up. So if I do excellent in Sophomore and Junior years, will I be able to be accepted at Cornell? And by excellent grades I mean 95 and above. Plus getting high scores on the ACT and SAT, etc.

Is there a chance?

Of course you would still have a chance, however over 90% of incoming Cornell students will be in the top 10% of their class. Will be difficult to get to top 10% unless your school grades extremely hard.
