I plan on getting all A's and getting a high SAT Score.

Here’s the deal. Your grades in the course you have taken are not acceptable for the UC system (I am unsure about the state universities, so I won’t respond about those). Also, I cannot fully evaluate you until you have taken the SAT. However, I can say that you need to work hard this year and get that GPA up a lot.

And what is your current GPA?

I think you can get into Univeristy of California Riverside at best if you meet the requirements of a 3.0 GPA with no grade lower than a C when filling those A-G requirements. I heard they accept anyone who is eligible to apply to a UC.

Chance “me” back, Kevin:

Sighh I’m crushed, I was trying to be optomistic but thank you for your honesty.

I still think you have a chance at either CSU Fullerton or CSU San Bernadino if you will be applying from one of those schools’ service area. You will need to really work hard your Junior year and get your GPA up to between 2.5 and 3.0 and get a combined critcal reading and math score of over 1,000 on the SAT. Math seems to be an area you have particular problems with so work very hard on doing well in both Algebra II and studying for the math section of the SAT. CSUs only care about your GPA, SAT(CR+M) scores and service area in their admissions algorithm so if other activities such as being class president are taking away time you need for studying I would drop them and focus completely on your grades and preparing for the SAT. If you are still determined that getting into a UC is your top priority, the ECs are important and you will have to stick with them but try to minimize the amount of time they take away from studying.

You have a good chance at CSU San Bernardino despite your GPA (thankfully, they don’t count your 9th grade gpa)…to get into Fullerton, u gotta bring up ur gpa a lot more next year (at least 3.3-3.5 level for ur 11th grade gpa) and get a decent score on sat (1100s/1600). UCI…sorry…there’s no way u can get into that school as a freshman…for UCR, you have to get at least 3.0, so u’ll literally have to get 4.0 next year and do great on SAT.
Honestly, if you really want to go to higher level ucs (Irvine, Santa Barbara, SD, etc), I suggest you go to CC for couple years and transfer. It will save you money and I know a bunch of my friends who took that option who didn’t do so well in high school.

freshman year doesnt count for UC’s, so dont worry about that. You need a 3.0 to apply to uc’s and the average at merced and riverside is 3.5. good luck
