bump (10 char)

The UC GPA is your big issue, especially for such a competitive major. I also don’t think a $50K plus income designates you as low income at a UC–that’s middle class. I’d have to call them all reaches. That said you have good course rigor and higher than average scores for UCD and UCSB, so the possibility is there.

It looks like you have a lot going for you, and by looking at your stats, I get the feeeling that you are a good student but just not good with chemistry. I dont know if the UC’s admit by major but if they do, and chem is not really associated with your major you should have no problem.

If they don’t, I still feel like you should be okay - since you repeated and attempted to fix your the D+, it shows genuine concern and even improvement, all of which is essentially desired of a college student. They want hardworkers, and nonquitters, you seem to fit into those categories.

so percentage wise how good of a chance do i have at going to uc davis?

you can use this as reference
www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/pdf/ITU.pdf

With their admissions profiles conveniently placed into graphs and ranges, it’s easy to see that GPA/SAT scores are extremely dominant in UC admissions decisions.

At your GPA range (3.30 - 3.69), UCD admission rate is 20.6%. It’s probably lower since you’re going into a hard science.

Oh, and that link you gave does not say much about admissions. Here’s a better link:

high match/low reach. shouldn’t have picked a hard major on the app

I don’t know too much about UC, but based on plain statistics I think you have a pretty good chance. Good luck! Thanks for chancing me.

bump please answer did i have to repeat ap chem again or was the a in regular chem good enough?
