Hi guys, sorry if this question has been asked before. Please do excuse my paranoid and obsessive nature. I'd like to clarify the TAG process.

For UC Davis specifically, they require that "30 semester / 45 quarter full time enrollment at a
CCC from spring term " AND "provided student does not reach or exceed 80 semester transferable units of combined 4 year and community college ".

My questions are:

What does 30 semester / 45 quarter mean?

In order to TAG, Do I have to complete at 30 UC transferable credits with full time student status?

I was not a full time student and I already have 37 cumulative units and 24 of which are UC transferable. Does that mean from now if I want to TAG I will have to earn 30 units with full time status?

What if I had earned more than 80 UC transferable units with part time student status. Will I still be able to TAG in this case?

Once qualified for TAG, do I have to retain the full time student status to maintain TAG contract?

Is there a requirement for how soon you should finish your required units once you've signed your TAG contract?

Again, I apologize if my questions are redundant. I really want to clear my doubts once and for all. Many thanks in advance for your time and help.

@RamonaFalls yes I understand that, my question is that when I completed the 24 UC transferable credits I was not a full time student so what do I need to do now to be eligible for TAG? Do I have to complete another 30 UC credits as a full time student on top of the 24 I already earned? Thanks :D

You’re missing Ramona’s point. If you do not already have 30 UC transferable credits completed there’s nothing else you can do to become TAG qualified. Whether or not you were full time or anything else doesn’t matter if you do not already have 30 UC transferable credits completed as of right now.

Are you trying to transfer in fall of 2014 or fall of 2015? If you’re trying to transfer in fall of 2014, then in order to TAG you need to have 30 UC transferable credits completed as of right now. If you are trying to transfer for fall of 2015, then you have more time.

Let us know if you don’t know/understand what academic calendar your CC is on; semester vs quarter. Otherwise, you will need 30 UC-transferrable semester (or 45 qtr) units at the time you apply for the TAG. If you are at a CCC, then the website assist.org has all kinds of tools and menus to determine which classes taken at your school are UC-transferrable. You state you only have 24 (assuming semester units), which is 6 shy of being TAG eligible for Fall 2014. You may apply for TAG next year to begin at a UC in Fall 2015 if you can obtain 30 or more units by September 30th (the date the TAG is due).

This depends on which UC you’re TAGging to. For UCDavis, you are expected to be a full-time student during the spring term before the TAG is filed. So, for example, if you were wanting to file a TAG for Davis to begin in Fall 2014, then they would expect that your TAG reflects a full-time status for the previous spring 2013 term. If you are planning to file a TAG for UCDavis for Fall 2015, then they will expect you are full-time student status during the Spring 2014 term. There is an exception to this as UCDavis allows part-time student status TAG with an appropriate explanation provided within the TAG application. So, a student who has one or more jobs has a chance to explain this to UCD to account for their part-time status and UCD may then expemt him or her from the full-time requirement.

See #2. Again, you are ineligible for TAG for Fall 2014 due to the unit requirement, however for Fall 2015 you will be expected to be full-time from this coming Spring unless you provide reasonable explanation why you weren’t.

From my understanding, the only requirement regarding 80 UC-transferrable units has to do with units not earned at a CCC; i.e. from another 4-year institution like a CSU or UC. If the student’s credits are all from a CCC, then there is no unit cap requirement. Do you have units from a non-CCC campus?

The spring term preceeding your matriculation to a UC campus. Basically, you must meet the “requirements to submit a TAG” by September 30th, and then must meet all other fulfilling requirements at the end of spring.
