Okay here's my situation. I'm a 2nd year student. I took Chem20A TWICE my freshmen year. I did NOT PASS twice (I got an F and then a D) -.-;;; I was wondering if it's not to late to switch and take the 14 series, which I was told a bit easier... On the registrar it says, "Not open to students with credit for course 20A" but technically I never passed Chem20A -.-;;; But for some reason, the D I got from Chem20A unit (4) counted towards my ECP total. In short, can I take Chem 14 series even though I received an F and a D in Chem 20A?

Shoot me now if I'm stuck with the 20 series... =(

really, the chem series are not that different until you get to the ochem part (20/30 series has 1 more ochem class) and the labs (20/30 series has two more labs). so if you got an F and a D in chem 20A, its not going to get much better if you take chem 14A. but yeah, you should look at another path if you were honestly trying and still got those grades. even if you can take and pass chem 14A, its only going to get harder as you advance in the series.

and you got credit for the D because a D is technically passing as far as the school is concerned. its just not enough to continue to 20B.
