So, I have been accepted to a couple of transfer schools for this fall 2018. However, I am not feeling good about a certain class that I am taking this semester and it’s so bad I am actually considering withdrawing from it. However, if I withdraw from this class I would be 4 credits short from graduating and I would probably make it up this summer.
I really want to transfer this Fall, and I got into a pretty decent state school. My friend, who is in the same situation where he is going to be a class short for graduation, told me that the Director of Student Life at our CC said that if we are 6 credits or less away from completion in our program, and that we have registered for classes this summer, we can still walk in graduation and still transfer.
I am not too worried about whether I graduate in the Spring or Summer, I am just worried about transferring. I am taking Bio and I am CS major, and my Bio class just sucks. It’s really hard, it’s useless, and I am only getting D’s. I am also taking 19 credit hours, so it’s alot and my midterm grades aren’t the best (while they can easily be improved IMO).
I am just wondering if anyone has heard of this and if this is true? If this is true, I am gonna really considering dropping out of Bio and take a class in the summer to replace it. Is this a good idea or not? Can I still transfer if I am taking a summer class with 4 credits short of completion? Right now I have 3.04 GPA, and I would need a 2.8 GPA at least to get into my transfer program. If I wouldn’t be able to transfer this Fall and have to wait till next Fall, I would probably not consider this. But if I would be able to, I would consider it for sure.
