I am thinking of taking both AP and SATII for Chemistry and Physics.
I am currently in AP Chemistry and AP Physics C Mechanics class in school.

I already have the McGraw AP Chem prep book the teacher required our class to buy and I am getting a Princeton Review SATII Physics book from my friend.

***Do I still need to buy a SAT II Chem book and AP Physics C Mech book???

I can speak to the chemistry situation, but not physics. The AP test is focused a lot more on quantitative problem solving, while the SAT 2 has more qualitative questions that test your knowledge of specific relationships. However, I would say that the biggest difference is that the SAT 2 uses a completely different questioning style. For example, there is a section where you have to say whether a pair of statements is true and if the first one supports the second.

To sum up: I would suggest getting the SAT 2 chemistry book to look at what types of questions are on the test. This is not necessary though, if you’re on a tight budget. In that case, try doing a practice test from online or somewhere else.

^ Thanks for the suggestion. I think I might just do some practice test online for Chemistry, then.

I’ve found that the AP practice books are generally a lot more in depth and comprehensive (and expensive) compared the SAT II books, so I usually just get an AP book and use that for the SAT.

Library. Most have agreements with other libraries and so can get any prep book out there. You just can’t write in the book, not a big deal.
