Hello everyone,I m a international student who currently lives in turkey.I intend to apply to Harvard university,i wounder if i could submit 7 sat subject tests.
German(lived there think i can get 800 easily)
MAT II
US History
Word History
Biology
Chemistry
Physics.
And how do you think what may changes would be if a got decent scores in all of them.

Yeah you can submit as many subject tests as you like, 2 is the minimum number to send in. Seven tests seems kind of like overkill. But since you are an International applicant I realize competition will be much greater for you, but maybe you should send no more than 5? Send the German score, choose a History score to send, send the Math score, and choose maybe two of the three science scores to turn in. Five subject test are pushing it too, three is a nice number. :). Really subject scores are only viewed to see if you are strong academically, after you get past that portion of the application I am unsure if they refer to them too much. Check the Harvard site and see what they say.

Partially agree with SpeakerBoxer. You want to demonstrate that you’re academically well grounded but you don’t want to sound like a test score whore who obsessed with tests and doesn’t do anything else. Now, I’d say you should take SpeakerBoxer advice but with one exception. If you also did a lot of ECs, or spends a lot of time on your ECs, sending in all scores will actually help you a bit. You will appear as someone who has a good time management skill and takes advantage of every opportunity available to you. That’s exactly how you want to appear as a candidate to Harvard and just about any top school.

Lastly, if you live in Germany for a long time, say 4-5 years and over, I wouldn’t advise you to take/submit your German scores. I believe you have to indicate where you’ve lived in the past, and living in German and later taking German might seem like a shortcut to you. A decent score will not look as impressive and you might look like someone who’s looking for an easy way out.

You can submit as many SAT II’s as you like, but Harvard will only use your top two scores to calculate your Academic Index.

rkanan: Some high school’s, like my daughter’s, require students to take SAT II’s after completing certain honors courses (Bio, Chem, Physics, Math, US History, Euro History, English Lang etc), so having more tests than required is sometimes the norm.

Do you guys think submitting all the SAT II’s would be in my favor ?

Provided ALL your scores are over 750, yes.

You can take as many SAT subject tests as you like, but don’t expect it to help you much if at all. Some schools (but not apparently Harvard this year) want to see all your scores so beware - You don’t want to be forced to send bad scores. Harvard is fine with the German score if it’s not your native language. It could be useful to take it at least to fulfill the language requirement even if it is your native language.
