<p>Say I'm applying to Columbia- which is on the Common App- and I'm finished with the Common App portion. Can I pay & submit the application now... and then wait a week to submit the online supplement to the Columbia application on the Common App website? I'm just unsure whether I can submit the application & the supplement separately if they're both on the Common App website.</p>

<p>I believe each part is done separately. When you’re done submitting the Common App portion it will remind you to submit your supplement (and payment) to the school.</p>
<p>Click on Payment in Common App and see what the rules are. Some schools want the supplement sent first, some want both before you try to pay them. I would imagine most schools will not even look at the common w/o the supplement, so what is the point of trying to submit them on different weeks? Just my thoughts, dont really know how they work it at Columbia.
