I took the november SAT2 writing test that is required by 2 of the schools i am applying to and still havnt received my scores. I keep calling CB and they keep telling me nothing is wrong with my test and my score will be released the next week but it never is. The day before the december test administration I called the College Board and asked if my score had been lost and if i should take the december test just in case. They told me that there is no problem with my test and that it will be released shortly but it hasnt been. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? And am i royally screwed considering the deadline for the 2 schools that require this test is Jan 1 and they dont accept january scores?

I don't know about suing them considering how big of a company that is.

But you can CERTAINLY say you are considering that as an option if your problem is not going to be fixed in any time soon. I bet they'll try their best to work things out for you.

Best of luck!

I would keep asking to speak to supervisors until someone is willing to help you. Also, it will help if you can get one of your parents to make the call for you. It's sad, but I bet they'll listen to an adult more than you. If no one is willing to help, definitely start threatening a lawsuit.

yea i havent gotten my december scores ... http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=21175

anyone know what i can do?

I had a scores dilemma about a year ago. What you need to ask for is some special department of "student services" or something along those lines. I forgot what the name of the department was. The people there will definitely get you the whole answer in about a day and tell you what's up. Call up the regular CB number and ask them about this department.

Suing them would likely jack the cost of their products up even more. I hate the CB.

CB sucks, ap tests are highway robbery.

"Scores are mailed approximately three weeks after you submit your request. However, some scores may take longer to report."
From the College Board website, part of the "SAT Terms and Conditions."

The College Board does not incorporate a definite delivery date into the agreement; therefore, unless you can prove a conspiracy, you have no currency in the legal arena.

But you can say that they present you with the expectation that your scores will be available in time to report them to colleges. If they do not intend for you to believe that your November scores will be available for the January deadline at colleges, then it is their responsibility to dispel that widely-held belief and the recommendations by colleges that the December SAT is the last one you should take to have your scores reported on time. By accepting the test fee, CB assumes the responsibility of fulfilling the customer's reasonable expectation of having scores that they can use.

Wonderwall,
call the schools that require the test, explain the situation, and ask them what to do. If you have a copy of your receipt for the November test you could provide that to show, in good faith, that you had taken the test in plenty of time.

As was already suggested, get a parent to call CB. You shouldn't threaten them - you are trying to get them to do something for you.

I think if you were my kid I might sign you up for the January test - must likely a waste of money, but insurance against having to take the test standby if your November one is well and truly lost.

Good luck and let us know how this plays out.

"But you can say that they present you with the expectation that your scores will be available in time to report them to colleges."

"By accepting the test fee, CB assumes the responsibility of fulfilling the customer's reasonable expectation of having scores that they can use."

CB is not responsible for the assumptions of the customer. CB is responsible for fulfilling their part of the "Terms and Conditions." You could make a better argument for suing the colleges that state they will accept your November (or December) tests.

Call those 2 colleges and explain the situation. Ask if they accept the january test.

you aren't technically in trouble because the colleges probably specified that if you take the test in November, then they will accept it. I don't think colleges ever specify that they need the scores by so-and-so date. anyway, you should first check with CB to make sure that they HAVE you down as having taken the test. Then, call the colleges and tell them that your scores will be delayed.

Thank you for all of your help. I had my mother call the college board everyday since i last posted. The case was moved to a department of delayed scores and today they found that my test simply wasnt scanned properly. They supposedly have my score and everything is fine. I'll find out my score next thursday since they only put scores up on the website once a week(wednesday nights). If any of you have a problem like this don't wait as long as I did to get in touch with a supervisor and continually call them. I kept calling their regular customer service which did nothing for me. You must ask to speak to a supervisor immediatly and have the case transferred over to their department of delayed scores. Make sure you get the phone number and name of the person within this department who is investigating your case so that you can call them directly. I will post the phone number of the person who dealt with my case as soon as i can find it. They will probably say that they will call you, DO NOT believe this. They told me they would call me so many times and never did. Also demand that they contact the schools and explain the delay in scores. I did and they told me they could not do such a thing the first 3 times i asked. Yet i kept asking and finally CB is contacting my schools.

now that's the persistence that'll get you into college
