Can I survive college without bringing any kind of computer with me? (at least for the 1st semester?)

I highly doubt it. It's possible... using the library computers and whatnot. But I honestly think that would be a totally unnecessary hassle, inconvenience, and obstacle; I would not be surprised if your grades suffered because of it.

i agree with Shadow. Unless you live in a 24 HR library. Bring a compute. GIANT inconviience. i lasted for 6 weeks w/o internet and i couldnt handle it. had to go the libraary (21 min walk) to check the smallest things

possible, but definitely not easy or convenient.

why would you try

You can, if your college has an extensive set of public computers. You'll just have to learn time management in order to get your papers done before the labs close for the night, if you're on a campus that doesn't have 24hr computer labs. All you need to do is purchase a USB flash drive (512MB should be enough to cover your needs). Other things you can do if you don't have a computer, is handwrite your papers first while in your room and then head over to the computer lab to type them up. Trust me, this is a huge time saver.

Yes. Will it be a huge hassle? Yes.

Computers aren't as expensive as they used to be. You can get a new desktop for $300 now, so why not get one?

Absolutely not.

No. You cannot survive without a computer/printer of your own.
