I’m not sure if I want to apply to the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Communication. If I am accepted into one, can I later decide to switch? If not, which should I apply to?

I’m interested in print journalism, but I also really like history and foreign language. I don’t know which school to apply to… :-/
Is one college easier to get into than the other?

Thanks in advance.

If you're in COM, you take classes in CAS and minoring in most subjects is not hard to get done. The "which one" is a hard to answer. COM is more about pre-professional training. They have internships and you can work on projects for clients while in school. If you want to take some communications classes, that's a different sort of thing. If you want to take some history classes, COM requires you to take a few anyway - distribution reqs, etc. are in each college's bulletin on line. Here's the COM bulletin.

oh ok, thanks so much. i'll check it out.

as long as you have a certain GPA then its really easy to switch into another college. i switched from cas to sargent after first semester and i just filled out a form, they looked at my transcripts, and accepted me. i also know a few ppl who switched to com from cas. make sure to keep around a 3.0 just in case you pick one and want to get into the other.
