Can I switch from Arts and Letters to Mendoza School of Business?

If I am enrolled as a freshman in the college of Arts and Letters, do I have the ability to switch into the Mendoza school of business or will this not be allowed? In other words, if I applied to the school of Arts and Letters, am I allowed to switch into the business school during my freshman or sophomore year or did I have to apply directly to Mendoza before entering?

yeah you can do it in a heartbeat. i’m a freshman here and people switch into everything even architecture/engineering before school starts. it’s easiest if you do it before you sign up for your first semester classes.

As a freshman, you are not enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters. You are enrolled in the First Year of Studies. And technically, you won’t declare a major until the end of the year. As long as you aren’t a transfer student, you can switch into whatever college you want whenever you want. However, if you want to complete your degree in 4 years, make sure to plan ahead and take the classes you need.

thank you for all of the help.

Thank you. Also, I heard transfers can’t transfer into mendoza?

Transfers from other schools are not accepted into Mendoza. Transfers from other colleges at ND are accepted on a space-available basis. High demand majors (declared at the end of your Jr year) can be subject to an algorithm which is detailed on the Mendoza website.
As stated before, you are not in a college or major your freshman year, so you can declare for Mendoza in the spring.
