Can I switch to CoE from LSA?

I'm applying to the Math Major in LSA and was wondering if I can take all the required courses for an engineer (Eng 101, Math, Chem, Physics) as a math major in LSA? Or would those courses not be offered to a math major?

Also, is it difficult to switch from LSA to CoE?
Thanks!

Except for Engr100 and 101, yes, you can take all the prerequisites. To transfer instead you take English 125 and EECS 183 instead of Engr 100 and 101.

As for the major classes (IE. If you wanted be an IOE major for instance), the rules for who can take those and how many and so forth will depend on the specific class.

So what would my freshman schedule look like? Math, Physics, and English ?
Would not taking engineering 101 first semester affect me?
I would have to take EECS even if my major has nothing to do with computer science or electrical engineering?
Thanks by the way! :)

EECS 183 is basically the same thing as Engr101, theoretically atleast.

If you’re sure you’d want to switch to CoE your schedule first semester would look something like:

Some Math
Some Science + Lab
English 125 or EECS 183
Some other class of your choice (likely a HU/SS)- Could be that you just take both English 125 and EECS 183 instead.

If you come in done with Math you could replace with a Science. If you are done with Science you could possibly replace with Math. If you’re done with both you could replace with a HU/SS as needed. If you are done with all that you could check the department you’re interested in and see if you can enroll in the intro classes for it.

You should make sure you finish your math, science, English 125, and EECS 183 your first year if you can. But within the first year it’s not really important if you take it in fall or winter.

Thank you so much!
I appreciate the help!
